Iran’s ‘Oblivion’ grabs award in Italy

Iranian short ‘Oblivion’ has managed to grab an award at the Diamond Film Awards in Italy.

Directed by Fatemeh Mohammadi, ‘Oblivion’ won the award for Best Student Film at the Italian event.

Produced by Iranian Youth Cinema Society, ‘Oblivion’ depicts the challenges facing old people.

“Old people are passed into oblivion when their loved ones forget about them,” a synopsis for the film reads.

The film has attended several global festivals, including the Phoenix Film Festival, the Buffalo International Film Festival, the Post Alley Film Festival, all of them in the US, as well as the Mercy to Universe International Short Film Competition in Turkey.

It has also managed to receive some three awards so far.

The Diamond Film Awards aims to promote films and help filmmakers to improve their careers.
